A very fine collection indeed, have not found any this good. I have added this collection into my listening arena along with many other fine collections of radio history. A early series dated back to the 1930's. Great listening. Audio and downloads are good, had no problems so far. Thank you for the upload.

However, why so many loading errors with several stories?

The recording of "Murder By The Dead" isn't the broadcast version, as that is believed lost. What's included here is a recreation from the original script directed by Shadow scholar and publisher of the pulp reprints, Anthony Tollin, from the mid-1980s as performed at a SPERDVAC convention.

It's Friday night and some friends asked me what I was doing. I invited them to listen to the shows you shared here and they, to their surprise, really enjoyed them. We all had a good time. Thanks for sharing this magic with us all.

Shadow of the Doom
Not as frightening as "lights out" or others, but a great mystery thriller. It is the essential representative of old radio at its best. Always suspenseful, well acted with good special effects, can't ask for much more!

was it really like this?
Just listened to the first two episodes. The second is particularly strange -- there's a bunch of people in the background, who talk to each other while the show is going on, and sometimes applaud and even giggle! Even during the commercials! I used to listen to this show as a kid, but don't remember anything like that. Is it possible that some of these recordings are actually of the rehearsals for the show? I can't imagine such behavior going out over the air!

Fine past time
I was so happy to see this offering of the old time radio series. THE SHADOW has always been a favorite of mine.
Its amazing listening to it and being able to find such enjoyment from something so simple. It lets you use your imagination. Lets you put yourself in to the story. Makes it fun to imagine the actors and how they portrayed special effects back then...no computer generated noises there! And often many of these series were done in front of an audience too. Amazing.
This series harkens you back to a time where RIGHT was right and Crime didn't pay...(Nothing like now.) I appreciate that.
Even though some of the tracks are a bit scratchy they are still clear enough to hear them well.
Thanks again for having this wonderful series for us to listen to.
